Nobody wants to get sick. And while it does happen in varying degree to different people, there can often be found a rhyme and reason behind it.
For example, if a person spends their lives’ smoking, it isn’t much of a stretch for them to develop lung cancer. As a person ages, their bones become more brittle, so it should come as a surprise if they break a leg or a hip. An overweight person who suffers a heart attack, while said, isn’t that shocking to us. Certain conditions are hereditary, others environmental; but for many, a clear line can be drawn, and connections can be made.
However, more times than not, there is no reason, no justification, and little comfort when it’s an innocent child who falls ill. And recently, exactly this has happened to one of the music industry’s most beloved stars.
In early November, Michael Bublé and wife, Luisana Lopilato revealed that their three-year-old son Noah had been diagnosed with liver cancer, and according to recent reports, has already begun chemotherapy.
“If God wanted it to be discovered that way, it’s because he wants to save Noah. Cancer is a horrible disease, but we have faith that Noah will succeed.” Lopilato said. “We know it was time to begin treatment. It will be long and hard, but you have to go. They say that children are usually strong to withstand chemotherapy … and my nephew is a warrior.
“He has the innocence of children and that is good. He doesn’t understand too much what is happening. The love people are showing is helping us to see things with optimism and we have a lot of faith.”
Bublé and Lopilato, who also recently welcomed into the world their now 10-month-old son Elias, released the following statement on Facebook: “We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the U.S. We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children.
“Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well. At this difficult time, we ask only for your prayers and respect for our privacy. We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle, God willing.”
Any time a child falls ill, it can only be viewed as a tragedy. The Bublé family is in all of our thoughts and prayers at this time.
